Bali Beaches

Nusa Lembongan
Is one of the most popular destinations for day tri from Bali. The journey takes between one and hours depending on whether you take a boat or motboat. The most popular trips are on Bali Hal an Wakalouka, but many smaller craft offer days trips we lunch and activities.
The pristine sandy beaches with calm bar are abundant with colourful sea life, so diving an snorkeling are very popular. For the less adventurouglass-bottomed boats are available. The view from the beach, with Mount Agung looming, makes a fabulo backdrop.
Padang Bai
Is the harbour for boats to Lombok. It is a quaint, laid-back fishing village with a few inexpensive loments for accommodation. A short walk over the rugged headland to the north will lead you to an intimate white sand beach.
Candi Dasa
Is the gateway to eastern Bali and is developing as a popular tourist destination. The beach has been washed away due to coral picking which used to provide a livelihood for many locals. This has now stopped, as tidal walls have been erected in an effort to restore the coastline. Slowly, the coral and beach is returning.
Amed and Tulamben
Are alternative destinations in east Bali. Amed is a quiet resort town which offers simple losmens, a couple of small hotels and good snorkeling. Tulamben is even quieter and popular with local divers. A shipwreck and a drop-off accessible from the beach offer easy access to a colourful underwater world. Diving courses are also available.

Lovina, Kalibukbuk, Pemuteran, Pulau Menjangan
Between Singaraja 'and Seririt on Bali's wild north coast, is a busy stretch of losmens and hotels, and the low sea makes this by far from the most inspiring beach in Bali.
The coastline has a number of tranquil coves, Lovina being one of them. Although Lovina beach is grey, it is popular with those who prefer peace and quiet. Dolphins are often seen playing in the waters off Lovina.
The diving off Pulau Menjangan, part of West Bali National Park, is generally regarded as the best in Bali. Boats are available to take divers over to the inhabited island.
Pemuteran is the perfect choice for you who would like to visit The Menjangan Island. If you stay at the Matahari Beach Resort they have direct access to the island.
The West Coast
Of Bali is very beautiful and wild. Some surfing is done in this area but it is not recommended for beginners as the roaring sea is filled with treacherous rips.
The beach around Tanah Lot is fantastic for horse riding, watching dramatic sunsets but not really safe for swimming.
Bali's beaches provide hours of entertainment for young and old. But do watch out for caution flags, as the rips can be dangerous, particularly on the surfing beaches. Make sure you have sunscreen - the sun in Bali is very hot.
