The Party hour
Wherever you are in Bali there is always somewhere good to eat and drink. In Ubud the nights are quieter and it is definitely in the southern part of the island that the party scene is orientated. In Sanur the late night disco is called Janger and goes on until the morning, past sunrise. It's all indoors, well air conditioned and there are lots of bar staff to make sure you have everything you need.
Kuta offers the biggest choice of bars and discos. The Bounty, The Ship, Sari Club and Peanuts are always busy and now there is the new Hard Rock Cafe which has live bands every night except Mondays. There are also some alternative bars such as the Koala Blue and the Hulu Bar. Uptown in Legian and Seminyak is Goa 2000 and Cafe Luna as the main watering holes. Warung Tapas has live bands on Tuesday and Fridays, until the wee hours of the morning. The Jaya Pub also offers live music and has a very casual pub atmosphere.
Gado-gado road at Jl Dana Pura is popularly known, Santa Fe has live music and is open 24 hours for food and drink. Newly opened is the Salsoteca bar and disco upstairs and you can even learn how to Salsa in dance classes held there twice a week. The other extremely popular bar down this road is the A Bar. It is called the A Bar as it sells Absolute vodka in all sorts of different ways imaginable, a very chilled place to hang out.
The two main night clubs in the area are both open air and operate on alternate nights. Double six at JI Double Six, just near Goa 2000 and Gado-Gado at the end of the road of the same name. They offer some of the best nights out with some of the island's best Djs and Double Six even has a Bungy Jump going during Club hours. Both have cover charges which include one free drink.
Whatever your tastes, enjoying your nights in Bali should be the least of your worries.
